Initial training can be measured in days or months and typically includes classroom and on-the-job training. We provide pre-training modules, as well as assistance with courses and certification. We send our staff to assist franchisees in opening and to assist franchisees in training their employees.
Who will be trained, how long you will be trained, what type of training you will receive, the subjects you will be trained in, and who will conduct the training will be included in the disclosure document that the franchisor will provide to you in front of you.
Our team involves members of your management team and key employees in the initial training. However, as with all other levels of support, it is important for you to confirm in advance who you will be allowed to bring with you to the training.
Remember that most franchisors understand the importance of your training and will look to see if you are serious about your training. This is such an important issue for most franchisors that your franchise agreement will likely allow the franchisor to terminate the relationship if you do not complete your training to their satisfaction.
It is important for you to understand the type and amount of ongoing support you will receive. Remember, you do not work for the franchisor; you are an independent businessperson operating under a license that requires you to meet the franchisor’s standards. You are not limited to receiving support only from your franchisor, and you should always consider what other types of support you can receive in addition to the support you receive from the franchise system.
Our company will provide you with a Field Support Consultant whose role will be to help you improve your business performance and to ensure that you are operating your business in accordance with brand standards. Your field consultant is not your boss and is not your staff manager. They are your main source of support and you should make time to always meet with them in person, not just let them meet with your management team.
